Prohibition of the practices of alternative medicine

Dear Minister of Health,

we hereby ask You to ensure the prohibition of deceptive alternative medicine practices. In the first place it concerns homoeopathy (see academic book by Prof. MUDr. J. Heřt: Alternative Medicine, Options and Risks, 1995, Prague).

Homoeopathy, in essence, is a colossal deceit in medicine. Every expert, physician or pharmacist must tap their forehead, seeing how people are deceived and robbed of money, and in addition, their health is seriously endangered.

In 1995, the Slovak Medical Chamber prohibited so-called alternative medicine, especially homoeopathy and acupuncture, on the grounds that normal medicine had been neglected and the consequence was several fatalities. It is total nonsense to consider the so-called homoeopathic remedies to be curative. Some of these remedies contain not a single molecule of the healing substance. The more the original substance is diluted, the more effective it is said to be. The ‘like cures like’ (simile) principle is nonsense and so is also the shaking process during which the homoeopathic preparation allegedly gets filled with cosmic energy, which is a fraud based on magic. President of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic R. Zahradník said that homoeopathy is “a triumph of professional illiteracy” and pointed out that the driving force in this system is a billion-dollar business.

Therefore, the fight against this deceit is a fight against the system of bribery. In fact, homoeopathy degrades medicine and is a crime against humanity. Moreover, it is a method which apart from magic uses divination (homoeopathic typology).

The system of homoeopathy promotes corruption in medicine and practises deceit on patients with the aim of disintegrating the society. We demand that the experts in medicine should ban this charlatanism and the sale of homoeopathic remedies in all pharmacies.
