A review of the new gender law
David Zhvaniya, MP, has informed that one of the criterions of the passed election law is gender representation in the list of candidates. It establishes that the minimum representation of women must be 30%.
In 2010, PACE Resolution 1728 changed the meaning of the term “gender”. This term used in legislation no longer stands for gender as such. The essence of gender ideology is that a man has the right to declare himself to be a woman, and vice versa. He has the right to change his hairstyle and clothing, receive hormone treatment or undergo a sex-change operation. Even if his physiology remains unchanged and he just declares that he is not a man but a woman, the state must fully accept his decision. State authorities are then obliged to change his personal data accordingly.
Those who have pushed through the new gender law through Parliament ignore the nature of gender ideology. The new law is discriminatory. It establishes that the minimum representation of women must be 30%. But what if after the election some of the men choose to be women? Or on the other hand, if the women declare themselves men? This will cause chaos in proportional representation! It will also mean violation of the law, and any violation of the law is punishable. How will the Parliament solve it?
In Sweden, to prevent discrimination against children on grounds of gender identity the neuter gender is used. In Germany, newborn babies are not registered as boys or girls but their birth certificates have a special indeterminate gender option. It depends on them what gender identity they will choose in future. Similarly, the forms of address such as “Mr” or “Mrs” have been eliminated to avoid discrimination in case a Mr chooses to be a Mrs or vice versa.
So to force someone to indicate whether one is a man or a woman is the negation of gender ideology and “psychological violence”. How then will the state practise proportional representation of so-called women and men?
We are afraid that this gender law intended to incorporate modern gender ideology in Ukraine is so controversial that the only solution is to repeal it.
