Christmas 2018, pastoral letter

Dear brothers and sisters!

The year has passed, not one minute will return. Again, we stand before the mystery of Christ’s birth to be spiritually united with Him. Before our spiritual sight a history unfolds, associated with the town of Bethlehem. The Holy Virgin and Saint Joseph came here all the way from Galilee for the census ordered by the Emperor Augustus. The child’s birth is approaching, and there is no place for them anywhere. The child is the promised Messiah, predicted by the prophets, and so long awaited by all mankind. They did not find a place in any house, in any shelter, except in the Bethlehem stable, where our Saviour was born, who is Christ the Lord!

The moving poetry of Christmas has touched the hearts of people of good will for two millennia. In the Holy Night, shepherds kept watch over their flock in the close vicinity. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared to them. His radiant appearance and his words penetrated them deeply: “Do not be afraid! I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people. For there is born to you this day the Saviour, who is Christ the Lord! And this will be the sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger. And straightway, there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men of good will!” When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby who was lying in a manger. The joy which the shepherds experienced was not just for them, it was for all the people and today even for me and for you. May we also bear these words always in our mind: “To you is born this day the Saviour, who is Christ the Lord!”

Who is the Saviour? The only begotten Son of God, the only One who saves from sin. These days we realize more than ever before that we need a Saviour. The situation in which we find ourselves is insoluble from a human perspective. Islamization is promoted under such a strong supranational pressure that neither the Czech Republic, nor Slovakia, nor V4, nor any nation of Europe is able to stand without God’s intervention. Besides, the states are exposed to a demonic pressure which astutely legalizes, privileges, and imposes on everyone, especially on children and youth, sodomy and all kinds of immorality. It is a systematic destruction of man, the family and the nation.

What are the prospects for children born this year and looking with their innocent eyes at their loving parents? Obligatory vaccination entails a threat of immunity disturbances and the risk of infertility. Immoral sexual anti-education is being legalized, globally programmed by the UN. The treaties by the Council of Europe and the European Union on gender demoralization are promoted by the very MPs of the individual nations under pressure and by deceit. A child will no longer be allowed to know whether he or she is a boy or a girl because everyone allegedly has a right to choose a “social” gender. Even the most dangerous residents of a mental hospital would not be able to make up such nonsense! Yet we have to take it seriously and, what is more, to consider it the prestige of the society! And not only that, we also have to throw away obsolete stereotypes, that is, according to the genderists, the family, father, mother and children. It began ten years ago with the Lisbon Treaty and is now continuing with the so-called Istanbul Convention. The hypocritical ideology about “children’s rights” or “domestic violence” entails the so-called preventive stealing of children from their loving parents. The stolen children will be given up for adoption to same-sex pseudo couples or paedophiles – this is a terrible nightmare which the Czech Republic and Slovakia have not experienced even in the darkest moments of their history. This demonic ideology will hammer into children’s heads all kinds of nonsense which they will have the “right” to put into practice, and their parents will have no right to protect them from these perversions because they would thus interfere with the “best interest” of the child. Subsequently, in line with the gender programmes, children will be forced to take hormonal drugs and then they will be psychologically manipulated to undergo a sex change operation, thus being turned into both physical and mental cripples. This is a terrible prospect. A leading Ukrainian politician has recently expressed his view on the Istanbul Convention which embodies gender ideology. He called it a form of neo-Marxism and the path to the abyss.

Poor children! All this is prepared by a modern Herod – the UN, EU and CE.

People who do not have a living faith are very poor today, even if they have the greatest wealth. They are doomed to despair and total hopelessness. We not only have hope, but we live by certainty and living experience because Jesus, our Saviour, indeed is with us and in us! He came as a defenceless child into the human darkness of lies, evil and sin. “To us a Child is born, to us a Son is given... He is Mighty God ... Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.” (Isa 9) He came to save us from the bondage of sin and the devil, and not only that, but also from the Herod who endangers us today by Islamization and gender ideology. However, it is necessary for us to repent, that is, to change our mind and to believe wholly in the Gospel rather than in demonic lies. We must stand against perversions.

The angel told the shepherds in the Christmas night, “Do not be afraid!” People today have a justified fear. But the words “Do not be afraid!” are addressed to all of us, just like to the shepherds. When there is such a great danger, how not be afraid? Because we have been given the Saviour. God has spoken to us through the prophet, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name. You are Mine. I am the Lord, your God, your Saviour.” (Isa 43:1-3) And this is what we want to realize this Christmas again. God is your Saviour. Do not be afraid! This is the greatest joy, and this is the only true solution. We have a Saviour! God is with us! Who is against us? Jesus said, “I am with you all the days of your life.” We have to be with Him too. There is no danger from which He would not be able to save us. However, we must voluntarily separate ourselves from sin, from the spirit of lies, and repent. Just as in the Old Testament, when the chosen nation was repentant, God showed His mercy on them again and again. But when the nation fell from the living relationship to God and was inclined to idolatry and occultism, there came wars, plague, ravenous beasts, and finally Babylonian captivity. Therefore, there is only one way for the Czech and Slovak nations as well as for other nations – the way of returning to God, accepting His commandments and turning away from the path of sin and self-destruction.

Today defence of the truth, even the natural truth, requires extraordinary heroism. Even your demonstrations held this year were a manifestation of heroism. You stood up for the truth and the law of God. The struggle for the destruction of Christianity, as well as of the Czech and Slovak nations, was exceptionally fierce this year. However, you balanced it by making extraordinary sacrifices. They are of great importance in the spiritual sphere. It was a struggle against the spirit of Islamization and gender ideology. The fact that the efforts to stage Maidan in Slovakia failed is also the result of your prayers and steps of faith. Slovakia and the Czech Republic rejected the Global Compact for Migration. Nonetheless, the struggle continues, and again, the future of our nations is dependent on your prayers and acts of faith that will remain written in the Book of Life forever.

Finally, let us mention a well-known event. In the IV century, St Jerome translated the Scripture into several languages in a hermitage in the Bethlehem Cave. There the Saviour appeared to him as a child. Jerome eagerly offered Him as a gift all he had: health, skills, time for fruitful work, his lifelong efforts, and ultimately his life. But the Child Jesus said, “You have it all from Me.” Jerome asked sadly, “So what can I give You?” Jesus replied, “Jerome, give Me your sin. That’s why I came into the world.” This is what Jesus wants today from you too. Give Him your sin and your fear as well as all your past and future. He will give you peace which the world cannot give.

You have received Jesus, He is within you. Do not be afraid of anything! Jesus came to this world even for you to save you. He is always with you.
