           Establishment of the Ukrainian orthodox Greek-Catholic Church

                                                         (UOGCC)

   Your Holiness,

we hereby announce to You that on 11th August 2009 our orthodox Catholic Bishops’ Synod of the UGCC resolved to establish a new ecclesiastical structure (Church) under the name of the Ukrainian orthodox Greek-Catholic Church, abbreviated to UOGCC. The reason for the establishment is the fact that the heretical structure persists in its heresies, exerts a systematic pressure on priests and the faithful. Now both the faithful and the clergy are given the opportunity to come out of the spiritual Babylon of the heretical structure and to join the structure which will give them an assurance of salvation through the orthodox Catholic doctrine.

   Our spiritual programme is: To restore all things in Christ (the motto of Pius X). We strive for a spiritual renewal of the individual, family, community, parishes and of the whole Church. The means to the revival have been tested throughout the Church history – they are conversion, repentance, a fight with our corrupted nature through self-denial and sincere following of Christ. That all is practically impossible without interior prayer. Naturally, the foundation of the spiritual renewal is the orthodox doctrine and sound moral principles following from the Decalogue and from Christ’s Commandments, especially those contained in the Sermon on the Mount.

   We believe that this model of the renewal of the Church, coming from Ukraine, will motivate even You, Your Holiness, for the renewal of the Western Church. We acknowledge Your primacy and infallibility ex cathedra; however, we can by no means be subordinated to the antipapal structure which occupies all key posts and denies the papacy as well as the fundamental truths of the faith.
