An appeal to the faithful

Dear faithful of the UGCC,

we announce to you that with relation to the fact that Card. L. Husar and the heretical Synod are excommunicated from the Catholic Church, our orthodox Catholic Synod has established an orthodox Catholic structure under the name of the Ukrainian orthodox Greek-Catholic Church, abbreviated to UOGCC. Thereby as a parish community you were given an opportunity to come out from the heretical structure which, because of its heresies, gives you neither Christ’s teaching nor Christ’s Spirit and therefore it does not lead you on the way of salvation. Within a few years this poisonous spirit would penetrate even to the very last parish and poison even the very last soul. God gives this chance of renewal to you that you might cherish the heritage of the fathers for the future generations. This heritage is the orthodox Catholic doctrine and Tradition of the Greek-Catholic Church which we represent. Up to this time you had no opportunity to separate from the heretical structure. You did not even perceive the impact of the heretical teaching and spirit, which had taken control of the whole official leadership of the UGCC. This hierarchy demands of you and your priests all kinds of obligatory money contributions and collections, the effect of which you most often cannot see. Our programme, however, is a spiritual renewal of the individual, family, community, parish and of the whole UGCC. Unfortunately, we were forced to establish a new Church structure because the heretical structure did not want to freely give up their power, in spite of being already outside the Church. Our aim is not your formal membership but the Church being again what she is to be. Maybe you have a good priest whom you love and who gives you healthy spiritual food; however, there is great pressure being exerted on him, and this pressure will increase, in order that your parish change mind and that finally both he and you receive the spirit of a false gospel and thus – gradually and inconspicuously – be robbed of the greatest treasure, the living Jesus. Therefore today it is up to you to pray for your priest and to support him in making a step which will decide whether your souls as well as the souls of your whole parish and of all Ukraine will be saved.
