Establishment of a new Bishops’ Synod of the UGCC in Ukraine
On 3rd August 2008 the true-Catholic bishops of the UGCC, who separated from the apostate Card. L. Husar and his heresies, formed a new synod. The reason was the fact that 17 bishops, that means the whole synod united with the apostate L. Husar, became heretical and according to the Holy Scripture (Gal 1:8) excommunicated themselves from the Church! The reason: public apostasy – unity with the apostate Card. L. Husar and with his public heresies.
The new Bishops’ Synod appointed Bishop Michailo Osidach (aged 78) the Supreme Archbishop of the UGCC. He thus became the new Head of the UGCC.
The new Synod of the UGCC resolved that the administration of eparchies in Ukraine will fall within the spiritual authority of these new bishops:
- Archeparchy of Kiev and Exarchate of Donetsk: Supreme Archbishop Michailo Osidach; Suffragan of the Supreme Archbishop: Bishop Irynej Bilyk OSBM
