An appeal to religious of the UGCC

We, the contemplative sisters of Saint Elias the Prophet Monastery in Bryukhovychi along with our sisters from other four monasteries (58 altogether), turned to the Holy Father Benedict XVI in our letter of 19th December 2008. We professed our faithfulness to him and at the same time our faithfulness to the true-Catholic teaching, which is represented today by the bishops of the orthodox Catholic Synod. Likewise, we renounced unity with Card. L. Husar and his heresies.

We hereby call You, all religious brothers and sisters, who sincerely renounced the world in the desire to serve Jesus Christ and His suffering Mystical Body, the Church – make a similar decision for the sake of salvation of Your soul and for the good of the Church in Ukraine!

How grave a crime of the apostatic hierarchy – to transform religious, the servants of Christ, slowly and inconspicuously, by virtue of obedience, into servants of antichrist!

God will judge us all, but what His judgement will be like is being decided now! In this historic time we decide our own fate – life or death! This, however, is a matter of eternity!

The deciding question is:

Does Card. L. Husar preach heresies or not? The answer is clear: He does!

Did he retract them in public? He did not!

Does he fall under the punishment of anathema according to the Word of God? He does!

Do those who are in unity with his apostasy fall under this punishment too? They do!

Does the orthodox Catholic Synod of the UGCC proclaim a true-Catholic teaching? It does!

Is this Synod, concerning the issues of faith and morals, in unity with the Holy Father? It is!

Are L. Husar and his apostatic Synod, united with his heresies, in unity with the Holy Father? They are not!

What is every religious to do? To admit the reality in truth before God and to take a decision accordingly.

We repeat: This is a matter of eternity! Either heaven or eternal condemnation through participation in heresy.

Dear brothers and sisters, servants of Christ, we pray for You sincerely that in this historic time, when You are deciding Your eternity and when to a certain extent You are deciding the spiritual awakening in our Church and in Ukraine, You may take a correct decision.

Both we and You shall be judged by God for our decision.

            In Christ,

sisters of the contemplative monastery of St. Elias the Prophet in Bryukhovychi
