• Ordination of seven priests

On 22nd April 2009 seven deacons were ordained priests. The ordination ceremony was attended by members of their families and closest friends. The new-ordained priests celebrated their first Divine Liturgies on 29th April and on 1st, 2nd and 3rd May 2009. The priests had gone through a due preparation, and their spiritual formation continues. They are aware of an extraordinary situation, in which they are willing along with their families to wholly serve God and the orthodox Catholic faithful of the UGCC.

• An orthodox Catholic burial

Basilian fathers threatened that they would not bury those who are in connection with Pidhirtsi. Therefore on 4th May 2009 Bishop Markian and the new-ordained priest Fr. Vasyl M. were invited to read the burial service in the parish of Zolochiv.

The apostatic Synod does not prohibit the priests from burying atheists, apostates, those who fought against the Church or self-murderers. It only prohibits them from burying those who received the Lord Jesus as their Saviour and were sincerely converted. The apostatic Synod thus proves that there is an antichristian spirit behind it. All manipulations, threats, intimidation and other methods of the apostatic Synod are ineffective, and, on the contrary, only lead to a conscious fight for the spiritual revival of the UGCC.
