Camera shots of dramatic events which took place during the attack on the contemplative monastery of St. Elijah the Prophet on 31st July 2009 can be watched on a DVD or on the web site video.community.org.ua. It is also possible to watch here the shots of a manifestation in support of registration of the Ukrainian orthodox Greek-Catholic Church and in support of removal from office of Mr R. Kurash.

This crime became an impetus not only for an application for registration of the orthodox Catholic Bishops’ Synod, but also for a concrete separation from the apostatical structure by establishing the Ukrainian orthodox Greek-Catholic Church on 11th August 2009. Subsequently, on 13th August 2009, in front of the Lvov Regional Council a manifestation took place during which a letter was transmitted to the Head of the Council, containing a request for deposition of Mr Kurash and a plea addressed to Mr President for registration of the UOGCC. The manifestation was accompanied by songs; people were holding placards with concrete demands. The Secretary of the orthodox Catholic Bishops’ Synod, Bishop Markian, addressed the meeting. The manifestation continues in a different form until 13th September 2009. Excepting sisters, several bishops of the UOGCC Synod and priests, a great number of faithful participated in the manifestation. Present there were also several newspaper reporters. The drama of the spiritual battle was reflected in the weather. The sun was taking turns with a heavy rain; nevertheless, the believers did not let themselves be discouraged.
