                                                The journal Misionar

The Basilian journal Misionar (October 2008) published a three-page article titled: “Tribunal of Supreme Archbishop of UGCC pronounced the punishment of major excommunication on the ‘Pidhirtsi fathers’”.

The editorial staff are well aware that this is a matter of a mendacious fabricated trial, they are well aware that the verdict is, in essence, invalid; nevertheless, they hypocritically refer to it.

Why did the eparchial court of M. Koltun make this incompetent and unfair step? Because for the sake of salvation of the heretical system it was necessary to form a public opinion that they, the heretics, are orthodox, and we, the orthodox, are the greatest harm to the Church.

The false verdict is one thing; however, on this false basis the Misionar’s editors began to present apparently true arguments to justify the fabricated trial. The editors distorted the truth about the situation in Prague in 2003, whereafter with consummate skill they presented the lie as an argument (the information on this topic is given in the book Letters from Ukraine, Ukrainian version, part I). And subsequently they mendaciously distorted one event after another. Our above-mentioned book publishes documents which expose the perfidious system nipping the spirit and the life in the bud. General Superior brought pressure to bear on Fr. Cyril, forcing him to commit perjury. When he refused to do so, he was automatically dismissed from the OSBM Order by reason of disobedience. The rest of us were dismissed similarly. Our appeal (recourse) was judged as another demonstration of disobedience.

Misionar serializes articles with the spirit of historic-critical theology (HCT), which e.g. deny Abraham’s offering, treating it as a legend. The spirit of HCT casts doubt upon all the truths of the Scripture and besides, it puts the Scripture on an equal footing with pagan myths. This spirit has seized power in the OSBM Order in Ukraine. This spirit of HCT as well as the spirit of syncretism is, in fact, a spirit of rebellion and disobedience to God.

We were judged, in the main, for lodging legal action with the Holy Father against Card. L. Husar for his heresies. This was also the reason why we received the episcopal consecration. Unfortunately, the very substance, i.e. the fact that Husar is a heretic, was not dealt with by the court at all! Neither do they deal with the substance of our letters to the Holy Father, i.e. our pointing to the two principal rotten roots – HCT and syncretism – which brought about the catastrophic situation in the Church.

However, the Misionar’s editors are silent on this, for they serialize articles with the spirit of HCT by means of which they sow the spirit of atheism and apostasy in the hearts of the plain folks. Full responsibility for these crimes against the faithful falls on the Misionar’s editor Fr. K. Yaremak OSBM and on the Provincial Superior Fr. J. Chverenchuk OSBM.

We bring to attention that the OSBM seminary in Bryukhovychi has likewise fully opened itself to the spirit of HCT and syncretism and instead of God’s missionaries forms the genuine young religious into pioneers of apostasy from Christ and from the saving faith. These will then implant the theology of death through an antimission even in the last common believer. This preparation of mass apostasy in the UGCC is fully fostered by the apostatic spirit in the OSBM leadership. The new Basilian generation under the banner of obedience, but not to God, will lead the faithful into eternal perdition! Therefore in the name of God we call upon each member of OSBM to repent and to honestly deal with this catastrophic situation! Because apostolic zeal has been replaced by so-called academic level – unfortunately with the spirit of apostasy. Poor students, for many there is only one salvation – to leave the OSBM Order. Naturally, the right solution would not be to leave but to change the spirit in the structure; this, however, is what the common student is powerless to do.
