                                         Demand for satisfaction

Dear editorial staff,

on 6th October 2009 Your newspaper “Halitska Zorya” published an article “Before leaving for the Vatican the Archbishop held a press conference”. Within the bounds of journalistic etiquette You are obliged to publish even the article of those who were blackened by Your newspaper.

Quotation: “‘Pidhirtsi fathers’, who have been excommunicated from the UGCC and have the intention of establishing the Ukrainian orthodox Greek-Catholic Church, tried to plant a bitter pill on the positive emotions.”

Response: An anonymous author calls us “Pidhirtsi fathers”. However, unlike apostatical bishops we are duly consecrated UGCC bishops and members of the orthodox Catholic Bishops’ Synod. We have not been excommunicated from the UGCC. Card. Husar and his court wanted to excommunicate us by reason of our receiving of episcopal consecration. The lawsuit was a model show trial against God’s and the Church’s laws and it is invalid. Why? Because Catholic bishops can be judged only by the Pope. Ex-Card. Husar automatically excluded himself from the UGCC owing to his heresies. he as well as the bishops united with him have fallen under God’s anathema according to Gal 1:8-9. So this anathema has fallen even on Bishops J. Voronovskyi and J. Priryz. Unfortunately, anathema for unity with heresies has also fallen on four priests of the Drohobych eparchy: M. Bendyk, T. Harasymchuk, I. Pankiv and T. Koberynko. Our orthodox Catholic Bishops’ Synod only makes this anathema public. What is the relation of the Vatican prelate Cyril Vasi? to these adherents of heresy of Card. L. Husar? Unfortunately, anathema – God’s punishment – lies even upon him as Secretary of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches as well as upon the Prefect of this Congregation, L. Sandri! We have made it public before the whole Church and the Pope has confirmed this painful reality by his silence.

Quotation: “They have to understand that once they were excommunicated from the Church, it is obvious that their activity runs counter to moral principles, especially the pastoral ones.”

Response: These words, however, which the author directs to us, fully refer to the above-mentioned ecclesiastical persons who, by reason of unity with the heresies of L. Husar, have been excluded from the Mystical Body of Christ – the Church.
