Post date: 2017-07-14Autor: Contemplative sisters
Dear Mr President, we hereby address You with a request for help and protection of our monastery in Lvov-Bryukhovychi since the lives of our Sisters are repeatedly in danger! On 13 July 2017, at 23:30, there was an attack on our monastery. An unknown group of men threw Molotov cocktails at the windows. There were 30 religious sisters and 5 guests sleeping inside. Only by a miracle of God there was no catastrophe and the monastery was not turned into a mass grave.

The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in their churches constantly slander the orthodox Greek Catholic Church and incite religious hatred. As a result, it was not the first time that terrorists hired by them attacked the Monastery of the Sisters of St Elijah the Prophet in Bryukhovychi. On the night of the 28/29th September, the Sisters kept vigil: they prayed in the chapel for our afflicted nation, for God’s mercy on Ukraine. Suddenly at half past two a.m., someone threw large stones through the window followed by three “Molotov cocktails”. A fire started and one could not see anything because of black smoke. The Sisters’ eyes were stinging from the toxic smoke, they could hardly breathe. One of the Sisters fainted, so the other Sister pulled her out of the flames into the corridor. The Sisters tried to extinguish the fire with water but it did not help. Everything was in flames; but the fire did not dare to touch the altar and the tabernacle. The following “cocktails” flew into the next room where the window caught fire, and then into another three rooms where some of the Sisters were wounded by pieces of broken glass (18 cocktails altogether). The police who arrived on the scene of crime called an ambulance for the injured Sisters, and the fire brigade was called out to the fire.

On Monday 22 June 2015, a group of men in masks made an armed attack on the women’s Monastery of St Elijah the Prophet in Bryukhovychi near Lvov on the orders of the UGCC (Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church) hierarchy. The Monastery, which was established by the Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytskyi in 1925, went through the communist era, when the Church went underground and suffered persecution, and it preserved the true Catholic faith.

On 22 June 2015, a barbaric armed raid was made on our monastery in Bryukhovychi at 6:20 a.m. There were about 200 men. They jumped over the fence, dressed in black and green and wearing black or green masks. They had guns. They broke the doors with axes. I saw a group of men in disguise at the door. They wore masks and you could only see their eyes. They had guns and pistols. They pointed the weapons at us, shouted at us and commanded us to go out. Another group of men was standing behind them and flashing torches in our eyes. They did not allow us to say anything. They showed no official documents nor explained what right they had to encroach on a private territory.

On 22 June 2015, early in the morning, a criminal act was committed at the request of the apostate clergy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC). The event took place in the chapel of the Ukrainian orthodox Greek Catholic Church (UO GCC), Sosnova St., Bryukhovychi, and in the Contemplative Monastery on Shkilna St. simultaneously. At 6 a.m. assaulters in masks and police uniforms broke into the buildings with crowbars and axes. They dragged four bishops and one priest of the UO GCC – Czech and Slovak citizens – out of the Basilian monastery on Sosnova St. by force, took them to the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) department in Lvov and do not allow solicitors to enter the case. Three of them were unlawfully deported from Ukraine soon. The other two were subject to an absurd trial with the testimonies of false witnesses and also deported from Ukraine on 25 June 2015. At the same time when the Basilian monastery was attacked, a group of armed criminals in military and police uniforms with batons, pistols and even machine guns (among them were also UGCC monks in disguise) encroached on the private territory and broke into the Contemplative Monastery of St Elijah the Prophet. There were about 200 of them altogether – 3 buses and several private cars.
Planned genocide of the UO GCC

This week, when Christians around the world commemorate the Passion of Christ (betrayal, unlawful condemnation, scourging and crucifixion of Jesus), it came to our knowledge that the leadership of the UGCC was finally successful with the government authorities when demanding religious genocide of the orthodox Greek Catholics.According to our information, the Security Service of Ukraine of the Lvov Region prepared a large-scale action concerning this matter, which also involves physical destruction of undesirable people. The Security Service of Ukraine now just waits for a “command” from Kiev...
A public appeal to the Vatican
Post date: 2013-10-31Autor: BCP
The Byzantine Catholic Patriarchate appeals to the Vatican representatives to stop religious discrimination against the believers of the Ukrainian orthodox Greek Catholic Church. The UO GCC dissociated itself from Husar’s heresies and from the Vatican. The Vatican should show true tolerance to the UO GCC, as provided by the Charter of Fundamental Rights! If the Vatican continues to be silent on public crimes of the representatives of the UGCC in Ukraine, it thus reveals that it itself is at the forefront of the criminal Taliban group!
Stop to eurointegration

Ukraine grossly and systematically violates the fundamental human rights – freedom of conscience and religion. The Synod of Bishops of the Ukrainian orthodox Greek Catholic Church (UO GCC) therefore categorically demands a ban on Ukraine’s integration into the EU scheduled for November.
Stop to eurointegration – religious discrimination
Post date: 2013-10-23Autor: Contemplative sisters
Sisters of the Monastery of St Prophet Elijah in Lvov hereby publicly warn EU leaders and the European public about gross violations of human rights in Ukraine. Unless and until the issue of blatant religious discrimination is settled, it is not possible to deal with the issue of Ukraine’s integration into the EU.

Today, on 17 November 2012, at seven o’clock in the morning about 20 men in masks broke into the monastery of contemplative sisters in the village of Probizhna, Ternopol region, Ukraine. These were priests and seminarians of the UGCC (Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church). They climbed a ladder to the second floor, broke the window in the chapel and invaded the monastery. The sisters just barely managed to take the Eucharist from the tabernacle. The attackers started to beat the sisters, kick and swear at them, and violently brought one by one out of the house under the supervision of the local priest, Zenobius Pasichnyk (UGCC) who was watching the brutal action from a distance.

Sisters that belong to the religious minority of the Ukrainian orthodox Greek-Catholic Church (UO GCC) were attacked in their private property by aggressively incited parishioners of the local church along with their priest, Zinoviy Pasichnyk (UGCC). He has been inciting religious hatred in the village towards the religious minority of the UO GCC for a long time along with cleric Orest Vilchynskyi from Lvov.

Provocation and An Attack on Demonstration of the UO GCC On 1 August 2012, a peaceful demonstration was held in Drohobych on the occasion of the anniversary of the Baptism of Kievan Rus by St. Vladimir. The UO GCC believers demonstrated against the gender-gay ideology which destroys all moral, spiritual and Christian values. They also protested against establishment of the juvenile justice system which has already started removing children from good families without any real reason. Before the demonstration, the local authorities and police, at the request of the hierarchy of the UGCC, tried to prevent it.
