Dear father, as bishops and monks at the same time we perceive a decay of true holiness, which is a symptom of a crisis in all religious institutes.
In fact, this decay is caused by religious having lost the sound foundation, that is, true faith, constant repentance and true following of the poor and humble Christ.
Many religious institutes have opened up to the spirit of the world and to heresies.
Our Synod now turns to You personally with an appeal that You Yourself should confess the true faith and renounce the contemporary heresies.
