Pronouncement of anathema against the Catholic priest Tomáš Halík
On authority of apostolic and prophetical service conferred upon us by God and by the Church, we, the below-signed bishops, hereby publish that the Catholic priest Tomáš Halík, on the basis of Gal 1:8, is expelled from the Mystical Body of Christ, i.e. from the Church.
T. Halík denies and calls into doubt the Divinity of Jesus Christ as well as His Resurrection. Christianity and its salvific faith in Christ is put by him on an equal level with buddhism and with other pagan religions. His heresies are publicly propagated in his books, articles and public appearances.
Hereby we oblige (cf. Mt 18:18) in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ all bishops, priests, religious and the Christian youth in the Czech Republic to dissociate themselves from the apostate Tomáš Halík: “He who greets him shares in his evil deeds.” (2Jn 9-11)
