Your Holiness, we very much appreciate Your genuine relation to the Czech nation which is so close and dear to You. However, we are seriously afraid lest Your visit should be misused by the present supreme authorities in the Catholic Church in the Czech Republic (CR), Card. M. Vlk and Prof. T. Halík.
do not prolong the term of office of Cardinal M. Vlk for the second time. Let him lawfully resign the Church post on 17th May 2009. If he does not do so, he will thus manifest his disobedience both to You and to the Church. However, if he continues at the post and You come to CR in September, You will then take responsibility for reinforcement and confirmation of the spirit of heresy of Card. M. Vlk and Prof. T. Halík as well as for the spiritual confusion caused to the clergy and the faithful.
