Virgin Mary showed her love for the Ukrainians particularly on 26th April 1987 – the day of the first anniversary of the Chernobyl catastrophe.
On that day the Holy Virgin appeared on the territory of the former Soviet Union, namely in the village of Hrushiv lying in the Lvov region.
In Hrushiv the Mother of God also told several messages in which she first of all addressed Ukraine, the first nation in the world that was consecrated to her: "...Ukraine was the first country to recognize me as her Queen and I received her under my patronage. Work for God, for without Him there is no happiness and noone can win God’s kingdom. Ukrainians must become apostles for Russian nations, for unless Russia is converted to Christianity there will be a third world war.”
