We hereby publicly announce to the Holy Father Benedict XVI, to all priests and religious and to all the faithful of the UGCC (Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church) in Ukraine that 17 below-named bishops of the UGCC are excommunicated from the Catholic Church by reason of apostasy. We warn that unless they repent, even the Holy Father himself cannot relieve them of this anathema. They are excommunicated from the Church, they publicly denied Christ and united themselves with heresies for which they earned automatic excommunication from the Church according to the statement of the Scripture – Gal 1:9: “If anyone preaches any other gospel ... let him be accursed (anathema esto)!”
