The current form of choice of a new bishop is absolutely inappropriate since it is secret and those who really know the particular candidate, i.e. priests (for he is a priest) and religious (in case of a monk-priest), have no opportunity to warn of a serious obstacle and, as the case may be, to prevent the consecration!
This system of election is one of the causes of the current crisis of the Church!
