The word of prophecy for Ireland
Dear Mrs. President, political representatives and the people of Ireland,
it is contrary to the principles of justice that the EU does not respect Your resolution passed in the referendum by which You rejected the so-called Lisbon Treaty. Now You have been forced into a second referendum which will be the milestone not only for the Irish but also for other EU nations.
Recent years have clearly shown that the EU is no longer a mere community of economic cooperation but also a politico-ideological bloc. Its new legislation changes the order of natural, spiritual and moral values rooted in Christianity and replaces them by antivalues (abortions, euthanasia, homosexual unions, living in sin, open marriages etc.). The situation would not be so serious if these antivalues were not presented as binding laws. Though the EU sets tolerance as the basic principle, its deeds deny it. It does not respect Your NO to the Lisbon Treaty. It does not respect Christians who refuse to give their consent to deformation of their children in schools by misorienting sex education, by an unsound view of abortions, euthanasia and homosexuality. The Lisbon Treaty opens the door for politico-ideological manipulation of the masses and results in avalanche-like dechristianization of Europe.
Your vote is not deciding whether You will enjoy financial support from the EU but whether You will keep faithful to the truth, to the love for life and in the first place to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and His Gospel.
Every inch of the Irish land is blessed through the prayers of Saint Patrick, a humble man of God, who knew what it meant to suffer degradation, humiliation and persecution. Tears of repentance in the valley of the Braid and on the slopes of Slemish (near the town of Ballymena) brought him to personal knowledge of Jesus Christ, the living God, and to a pure love for the Irish folk. Who could remain untouched by his Confessio which has been preserved to this day? It was him who prayed on the Mount called Croagh Patrick and asked in his prayers for God’s blessing and faithfulness to Jesus for the Irish nation. Despite strong resistance of the dark powers struggling to keep the Irish folk in darkness he persevered in prayers and vanquished them. Would that even today the God’s beloved Irish folk stood the great test of faith like St. Patrick and gave a clear response to the powers of darkness. Let us not forget that today the fate of the future generations is at stake. These generations have the right to grow in a healthy social atmosphere penetrated with true Christian values. The EU’s promises of exceptions for Ireland are merely a provisional solution and serve to win Your agreement.
This was, in large part, the human aspect of the problem You now face. And now You ask about that which is most essential: How is God looking at the whole thing? We answer: As successors of the Apostles, we now speak the word of prophecy for the Irish nation: “Thus says the Lord: Abide by My laws and the Gospel. My Son Jesus Christ died on Golgotha, that you may have eternal life. Do not pay heed to temporal good or bribes, do not reject the voice of conscience. Do not fear threats or persecution from the powerful of this world. In the hour of your death you will answer for your decision, whether you are President, Member of Parliament, bishop, priest or a common Irish citizen.”
This word of prophecy, given to the Irish nation, could be declared null and void before God only by the Holy Father Benedict XVI alone. His silence signifies that he is fully aware of its seriousness and effect and that he agrees with its whole content.
Praying for You and blessing You,

- Bishops of Ireland
- Václav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic (CR)
P.S.: On 6th May the Czech Senate passed the Lisbon Treaty. The President of CR emphasized that “there was unprecedented pressure (politics, mass media, home and abroad). I am going to wait for the result of the repeated autumn referendum in Ireland. I will not sign the treaty until autumn.” In conclusion, he said: “For the time being, the Lisbon Treaty is dead because the referendum of Ireland rejected it.” If only it remained definitely dead even after the second referendum. This hope is placed in the Irish nation by the Czech President, by the Pope as well as by all who defend moral and spiritual values of the individual, family and Europe.
