St. Basil the Great fights with heresies

The influence of heretics cannot be called other than a barbarous attack during which these enemies do not pull down the ramparts, or towns or houses built by human hands, but they destroy and plunder human souls. Mean leaders of the Church have passed to the offensive against the orthodox with the assistance of temporal power. What stirred up their hopes of victory most was the sight of general cowardice.
