Your Holiness,

there are voices heard which accuse You as former Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith of bearing co-responsibility for the catastrophic state of the present-day Church. They say that You knew about the moral scandals of homosexuality and paedophilia, too, and were silent on it. We now say in Your defence: God put You into a responsible position and You had no choice but to keep silent, just like Gorbachev until the time when he got to the highest post in the most powerful political world structure. Then he carried out a reform. Though he might have been brought to responsibility to some extent for the crimes of the Communist regime in the past, now he is fully rehabilitated because of the reform which he effected from the highest post. Practically, he liquidated the whole military-political system of the former Soviet Union. He was the only one who could do so, and nobody else, and only in the way he did it. Similarly, You also can liquidate the criminal system built up by atheistic theologians and by apostatical hierarchy which shields it. Your Holiness, at the present time You too, though unintentionally, shield this criminal system by Your inactivity. This system opposes the very essence of the Gospel, has driven out the Holy Spirit and received the spirit of apostasy. In the hour of Your death, the Supreme Judge and Saviour Jesus Christ, whom You visibly represent here on earth, will ask You: “Benedict, did You carry out the reform for the sake of which I appointed You to the highest position in the Church?” Christ and His Church demand one thing from You today, and that is a reform. The enemies inside the Church will divert You from the most essential and important thing by artificial problems!

We pray for You and ask the Holy Spirit that – even at the cost of Your testimony being a bloody one – You may become a really true witness to Christ these days. You have no other choice.
