Dissolution of the Pontifical Biblical Institute

Your Holiness,

the Biblical Institute brought much blessing to the Church. For example, 100 years ago it helped St. Pius X in carrying out the reform. However, this institute has now become an instrument of spreading the spirit of apostasy through the so-called historical-critical method. This method is based on atheistic philosophy and in essence, it denies the Divinity of Christ, the inspiration of the Holy Scripture and all miracles as well as the supernatural contained therein. So-called erudition has become a pretext to deny the essence of the saving faith. At the present time this Biblical Institute is harmful to the Church. Therefore we propose that until a true reform is carried out this Institute should be dissolved. Its activity can be renewed only in case it will serve a true renewal of the Catholic Church. Today this Institute is performing an opposite activity. It leads the Church to gradual self-destruction.
