Promulgation of an anathema against 22 professors of the Biblical Institute in Rome
On 5th May 2010 the UOGCC Bishops’ Synod appealed to 22 professors of the Biblical Institute in Rome to confess the faith and renounce contemporary heresies.
Professors appealed did not confess the faith nor did they renounce heresies wherefore according to the can. 1364 §1 СІС they incur a latae sententiae penalty of excommunication and according to God’s law they fall under an anathema, that is, excommunication from the Church – God’s curse – for proclamation of another gospel (Gal 1:8-9). Anathema was published on 24th May 2010.
We call upon the students to dissociate themselves from the heretical teachers and not to accept their teaching. They must prefer to save their souls rather than be poisoned with a heretical teaching and heretical spirit.
What chance of repentance do these excommunicated theologians have? They have to confess the faith, renounce the spirit of heresies and ask the Holy Father to receive them back into the Church. They certainly cannot hold whatever Church office any more. If they do not repent and if they die in this state, they will be eternally condemned.
