Word of life - Rom 4:16

“That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise

may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring.” 

God gives the promise of eternal happiness and eternal life after death. We do not deserve by law to obtain this eternal life which God promised to Abraham and to us, the spiritual children of Abraham. This promise of God rests on grace. We obtain it through faith, through genuine conversion and repentance.

Practical application: 7 times a day we elicit perfect contrition by calling on the name of Jesus (Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, have mercy on me a sinner /5x/) and fixing our eyes on His five wounds through which we receive God’s grace. The promise of God is this: “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Try to call on Jesus’ name with such faith as if it was the last minute of your life. Believe that really at that moment your sins are forgiven, and if you should die you shall be saved – you shall enter the glory of God.
