This paper originated in Ukraine at the time when Ukraine started opening itself to a strong influence from the West. Christianity in Ukraine is exposed to for the time being a slow, yet a strong pressure, which affects the Church destructively not only externally but internally as well. There are many dangers of spiritual poisoning but the most cunning and the most dangerous is the spiritual poison called historic-critical theology – HCT. The question here really is eternal salvation or everlasting perdition of millions of souls for which the death of Christ and His sacrifice on Golgotha – owing to this influence (HCT) – would be in vain. It is the life or the spiritual death of the whole nation that are at stake here.

We are sending this paper also to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (Prefect – Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger*) as an impulse to a fight against this heresy within the Church on a Church-wide scale.

Without a true conversion and a definite decision to follow Christ as well as without opening oneself fully to His Spirit, not only that we will not be able to fight, but on the contrary, we will receive the poison of the HCT and spread it further. These are not just phrases, this is a real fight, namely a spiritual fight (cf. Eph 6:11-19). May this paper open the eyes of many and give them an impulse to fight and endure mocking and suffering for Christ and His bleeding mystical body – the Church. May new and new groups of a constant prayer be created in Ukraine, that will fight for a protection and purification from the spiritual poison of the HCT, for a mission and a spiritual conversion and resurrection of Ukraine!
