Your Eminence, we are turning to You in the matter concerning settlement of the issue of hastened beatification of the deceased Pope John Paul II.
The tendency to quicken the process of beatification is usually justified by the public opinion and by the motto: the voice of the people is the voice of God.
What is the true voice of God as to this concrete problem? “Repent” – of great and public offence caused by John Paul II in Assisi.
Therefore we emphasize: this is not the appropriate time to beatify John Paul II because of the fact that he caused great offence to all honest Catholics and also to all Christians – as the Orthodox so the Protestants.
