What makes us unhappy here as well as after death is the poisoned root in our soul, so-called original sin, or old man. The only Saviour from sin and from eternal perdition is Jesus. The condition of salvation – the loss of soul for Christ’s sake (Mk 8:35); the biggest obstacle – the spirit of pharisaism (Mt 16:6).
