On 29th September 2005 Cardinal L. Huzar pronounced: “The religious tensions could be solved if Ukraine had one patriarch for all… Neither Moscow nor Rome will give us unity, instead Ukrainian Catholics should join (the Orthodox) in a single Church, and then Rome, Constantinople, or Moscow will just accept this fact. It is not essential that the patriarch of this Church should be a Catholic.” (Catholic News, www.cwnews.com)
We are asking why our believers in the time of liquidation of our Church, in the time of violent Orthodoxization sacrificed their lives as martyrs for the very unity with the Holy Father? It is a big shame in front of the whole world and in front of our Church as well as in front of the thousands of martyrs that the head of our Church has such schismatic thinking.
