Heresies concerning Jesus - III
Post date: 2008-09-01Autor:
Husar’s formulation “He came into the world as man” is misleading. Jesus did not come into the world as ordinary man, He came into the world as God and man: “The Word became flesh” (Jn 1:14).
The formulation “Jesus born of a woman” is not a heresy, provided it is clearly formulated that this woman is full of grace, preserved from sin and that she is a Mother and Virgin at the same time. Yet a heresy is to see Mary as a mere woman and not to emphasize that she is a Virgin at the same time. Similarly, a heresy is to see Jesus as mere man and not to emphasize that He is God.
Whenever we speak about the Lord Jesus Christ, we must clearly formulate not only His humanity but also His Divinity!
