The reform of the liturgy was vital and useful but it was not the most crucial problem. Unfortunately, this reform drained all strength and detracted attention from the essence. However, this suited the spirit that usurped the rule inside the Church and now through spiritless managers is consummating the self-destruction of the Church. Nowadays in our Eastern Church instead of performing the most needful reform there is this false spirit again sheltering itself behind so-called purification of the rite. One does not deal with the most essential issue, which is the internal renewal of the Church, but excessively emphasizes the purification of rite and the catchphrases about “true-Eastern spirituality”. However, in reality this is not “true-Eastern” but “far-Eastern spirituality”, i.e. spirituality of New Age which encompasses all oriental religions.
