Your Holiness, this year the Ukrainian nation will celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Christianization of Ukraine by St. Vladimir in Kiev. The President of Ukraine expressed his wish to worthily commemorate this anniversary this year. An external gesture, if connected with a firm spiritual foundation, can bring into all Ukraine the Spirit of God and a renewal not only of Christianity but of the whole nation, too. You, Your Holiness, bear the highest responsibility for our Church, for her future spiritual awakening in Ukraine or for her stagnation or even liquidation.
