The Provincial Superior of a certain religious congregation in Ukraine set on her sisters a prohibition against whatever contact with us, the monks of the Pidhirtsi monastery. The reason she gave for her measure was that we had committed a big crime since we had proposed if at least one of us might be appointed as bishop. What to say to this: We confess before You as well as before the whole Church that we did commit this crime and we sincerely gave such proposal to the Congregation for the Oriental Churches.
