New year’s pastoral letter to the priests 2009

By this pastoral letter we call upon You, every priest, as diocesan so religious, in the name of God, that is, God Himself through us calls You to the most vital step, without which nobody will be saved, and that is a clear confession of the true faith in Christ and His Gospel. Your attitude of denial or confession of faith will decide Your eternity! This is the most topical and at the same time also the most personal matter, if You want to be and remain Christ’s servant and if You want to be saved!

The almighty God became a defenceless child, that you may become a son of God, an heir of God’s kingdom. This is Christmas. God loves you and has given you the greatest gift: His own Son. In Him you have eternal life and in Him you also have true happiness on this earth. If you admit your sin before God and receive Jesus with faith, Jesus is born in your soul. It makes no difference whether you are a child, or an adult man or woman.

Dear sisters, we pray that You may remain faithful to our Lord and Saviour and not be frightened by persecutions, disconcerted by intrigues or paralyzed by invalid excommunications pronounced by those who were excommunicated from the Church by themselves and as apostates now illegitimately occupy the Church posts.

The Church is separate from the state, and therefore a demand for deportation on the strength of religious or doctrinal beliefs is a violation of the Constitution of the Ukrainian state and a sign of malice in the hearts of those who forced the dean and his priests to write such a proclamation. Unfortunately the dean and the priests are not guiltless either. They preferred to choose temporary good with a betrayal of the truth and of Christ rather than a clear and just conscience along with the oppression on the part of the apostatic hierarchy, which is now illegitimately occupying the posts in the Church structure.

The letter of the orthodox Synod was delivered to Bishop Josaphat Kavatsiv, but unfortunately it was late. The apostate bishop T. Senkiv had by that time found a traitor – Fr. Vasyl, the assistant priest of Bishop J. Kavatsiv. Fr. Vasyl arranged everything in advance together with the apostate Senkiv and invited him to his liturgy which he officiates every Sunday at 8 a.m. During the celebration on 9th November 2008 he himself welcomed T. Senkiv in the church of Bishop J. Kavatsiv. The apostate Senkiv offered the priest a reciprocal service – he will arrange for his son to complete his theological studies in Poland.

A mockery of the last true-Catholic bishop was the fact that the funeral service was held by the apostate Card. L. Husar. L. Husar considered this true-Catholic bishop his enemy. Bishop S. Dmyterko was consecrated a bishop in secret in 1968. The Pope did not acknowledge him before 1990. We are now in a situation similar to the one from the time of the Catacomb Church.What brought dishonour on the true-Catholic eparchy was addressing the faithful in the cathedral as “pravoslavni” (Orthodox) Christians.The funeral service of Card. L. Husar and several apostate bishops present discredited the life work of the true-Catholic bishop whom we had received into our new Synod.
Reply to the article allegedly written by Bishop S. Dmyterko OSBM

The religious journal Nova Zorya has carried an article which was allegedly written on 10th October 2008 by nearly dying Bishop Sophron Dmyterko OSBM. This orthodox (i.e. true-Catholic) bishop died on 5th November 2008. The question is how he could write that article if for more than a year he could not speak and his arms and legs were paralyzed. In December 2007 he was visited by Bishop Eliáš OSBM and by religious sisters. Unfortunately, at that time he was already unable to communicate.

We are convinced in Christ that the so-called visitation of the apostate bishop T. Senkiv in Your church, which is to take place on 9th November 2008, is the devil’s attack and if it takes place, You will lose the church, the parish and the whole eparchy where the Holy Spirit and the Church have appointed You as a bishop. Do not believe that a compromise with this spirit of apostasy will guarantee You a quiet life in Your old age and recognition of Your apostolic office. They will not give up until they morally kill You.

God who died for You on the cross now asks You to reject chantage on the part of the apostatic yet hitherto official hierarchy and not to torment the souls of the common believers in Confession or in sermons by forcing them to unite with L. Husar who is a heretic and apostate and by separating them from us and from Christ crucified whom we represent. You thus commit a grave crime above all against Your own soul! You thus renounce Your own salvation! You turn into Judases and fall under his curse (cf. Acts 1:20).

The false shepherds commit a grave crime against Christ and the Church by forcing the priests to abuse the sacrament of confession for manipulation of truth and conscience. The sorry truth is that in confession they force You to renounce Pidhirtsi and the Spirit of God, the spirit of truth which is behind us and, on the contrary, to confess unity with the heretic L. Husar and with the spirit which is behind him. In other words, they force You to fall away from Christ, to renounce Your salvation and to unite with the spirit of antichrist which is behind the heresies of L. Husar! That which these false shepherds and some of their adherents from among the priests do is a deadly sin and an abuse of the sacrament of penance. They are not entitled to act in this way and You are not obliged to submit to their chantage.

Organize in Your parishes common prayers for the Youth and encourage them in the ideal of premarital chastity. Let These prayer meetings take place every first Saturday in a month. here let Young people consecrate themselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
